The Victory Hall relies very much on volunteers to support its work. The Trustees of the Victory Hall are themselves volunteers, and they manage the operation of the building and all maintenance - a lot of it quite hands-on. For events such as licenced bar events, indoor car boot sales and the Christmas Fayre, we need additional volunteers to help out. We also seek expert advice on maintenance of the building, as well as special projects that require certain expertise, such as fundraising for large renovations projects.

We are always very pleased to hear from new volunteers, and grateful for any assistance you can offer. That may be baking, serving teas, bar work, glass clearing, washing up, setting out tables and chairs, selling raffle tickets, marshalling guests through the hall, or sweeping floors after events. We also need help with marketing tasks such as making and distributing posters, social media and website. If you have practical skills such as painting, plumbing, joinery or general maintenance, we can always find a job for you. Or, you may have a great idea for something we could offer at the hall, and even be enthused to help put it on.

You can choose how much time to devote to the hall, and you may want to help just once or regularly. If you feel you can offer more in an advisory capacity, we welcome volunteers to attend our committee meetings, which take place around every 6 weeks. You could even aspire to become a Trustee!

To enquire about becoming a volunteer, please complete the form on the Contact and Bookings page. Additionally, if you would like to be kept regularly informed about what we are doing, please sign up for our newsletter at the foot of this page.

Thank You!

  • Thank you to our volunteers for helping at the Indoor Car Boot Sales over the past few months, with baking, making sandwiches, serving lunches, helping on the hall's own stall and all the washing up. The sales are popular, regular events and we are grateful to you for making them possible.
  • Thank you, Steve Wilson, for all your advice on the development of the Broadfoot Room into a technological meeting room. We are now seeking funding for the project and hope to get it started in the next few weeks.
